Australian ABC goes global with new app.

ABC Australia has launched a new app for global audiences, allowing viewers to catch up on TV from down under wherever they are.

The new ABC Australia iview app for viewers outside of Australia, available for download on iOS and Android devices, is the latest addition to the Australian broadcaster's previously geo-blocked iview service.

The app provides access to a live global stream of the ABC News Channel alongside a selection of programmes available on-demand, such as Australian Story, BTN and Gardening Australia. The new service will also feature programmes showcasing regional Australia, including Back Roads, along with documentary, lifestyle and entertainment content such as Waltzing the Dragon and triple j’s One Night Stand.
