STV Player launching on Sky

STV's catch-up and on-demand service will be available to Sky subscribers in Scotland from 31st October 2019.

Part of a previously announced deal between the two broadcasters, it follows the arrival of a fully regionalised STV HD service on Sky in the spring.
STV Player will be available on Sky+HD and Sky Q receivers in Scotland and will available alongside the ITV Hub allowing users to catch-up and watch on-demand programmes from the Scottish commercial broadcaster.

Update (1/11/19): On Friday 1st November,  Richard Williams, STV’s Managing Director, Digital, commented on the launch saying:

With this launch, STV Player is now universally available across all platforms in Scotland for the first time. Sky is hugely popular in Scotland and our viewers will now be able to access their favourite STV shows, like the soaps and next month’s I’m a Celebrity, alongside more relevant local programming whenever they want them. The STV Player is the most popular commercial broadcast player in Scotland and we’re delighted to be working in partnership with Sky to expand its reach across the country.

STV Player will also be added to Sky Go before the end of the year.
