STV's catch-up and on-demand service will be available to Sky subscribers in Scotland from 31st October 2019.
STV Player will be available on Sky+HD and Sky Q receivers in Scotland
and will available alongside the ITV Hub allowing users to catch-up and
watch on-demand programmes from the Scottish commercial broadcaster.
Part of a previously announced deal between the two broadcasters, it
follows the arrival of a fully regionalised STV HD service on Sky in the
spring.
Update (1/11/19): On Friday 1st November, Richard Williams, STV’s Managing Director, Digital, commented on the launch saying:
STV Player will also be added to Sky Go before the end of the year.
With this launch, STV Player is now universally available across all platforms in Scotland for the first time. Sky is hugely popular in Scotland and our viewers will now be able to access their favourite STV shows, like the soaps and next month’s I’m a Celebrity, alongside more relevant local programming whenever they want them. The STV Player is the most popular commercial broadcast player in Scotland and we’re delighted to be working in partnership with Sky to expand its reach across the country.
STV Player will also be added to Sky Go before the end of the year.
