BT launches flexible sports channel subscription option

BT follows in the footsteps of Sky, Premier Sports and Eurosport in offering monthly flexible access to its sports channels.

Available immediately for £25 (€29.68 ROI) per month for instant access, BT Sport Monthly Pass lets anyone buy and watch BT Sport on a month-by-month basis.

The pass will offer every UEFA Champions League match exclusively live, weekly live clashes from the Premier League, action from Gallagher Premiership Rugby every weekend, top-class Saturday night boxing and more.

Unbundled
The launch follows Sky's path which introduced contract-free access to Sky Sports via Now TV and similar offers by Eurosport Player and Premier Sports which offer customers a monthly option. Previously, Sky and BT tried to bundle their premium sports channels with other pay TV or broadband subscriptions, with 12 or 18 month contract periods.

Supported devices
The BT Sport Monthly Pass will give sports fans access via the BT Sport App on Apple/Android mobile devices, online via btsport.com, Sony PlayStation 4, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox One and Chromecast.

Monthly Pass customers will also be able to enjoy BT Sport Ultimate service at no extra cost.

BT Sport Ultimate broadcasts selected programming in 4K UHD and High Dynamic Range (HDR).

Pete Oliver, managing director, marketing for BT’s consumer division said
BT Sport Monthly Pass means that customers can sign up on a flexible monthly basis for the first time and make the most of all the fantastic live sport that we have to offer. With BT Sport Ultimate included, we’re giving customers the very best possible viewing experience. Monthly Pass forms part of BT’s ambition to offer BT Sport customers’ unrivalled choice and the highest quality broadcasts on even more devices and platforms.
