Sky Sports Pause: new option for subscribers

Sky says it will now allow its customers to pause sports subscriptions.

There's hardly any live sport taking place around the world now - as a result, many Sky Sports subscribers have been asking for refunds.

Sky has now confirmed in a statement that subscribers to its satellite service will now have a new option to pause their subscription without penalty. It said:

"While we expect that many of the recently postponed sports events will eventually go ahead if you wish to pause your sports subscription in the meantime you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period."

At the moment, subscribers can only pause a subscription over the phone and not online.  The pause doesn't apply to any third-party sports channels on Sky, such as BT or Premier Sports.

Users of Sky's online streaming service Now TV can choose not to continue taking any new Sky Sports Passes until there's some new live sport on the channels that they want to watch.

Update 20/03/2020:
Sky Sports customers can now pause their subscription online until June.
