Now 70s closes Freeview outlet

The music channel ends its Freeview carriage after four months.

Now 70s has closed its Freeview outlet on channel 78 at the end of a short lived carriage period on the digital terrestrial TV platform that started at the end of February.

The UK's only music channel dedicated to 1970s music was available daily until 10pm, and overnight as a streamed service on compatible Freeview devices.

The service has been pulled without any replacement as a result of a commercial decision by the broadcaster. Now 70s continues on Sky and Virgin Media.

Sister channel Now 80s continues on Freeview channel 83 in some parts of the UK, while Now 90s - which also had a brief stint on national Freeview - continues in the Manchester area only on channel 84.  Now 90s is also available via Channelbox on channel 271.
