Amazon delivers free access to the Premier League

Amazon will make its coverage of four Premier League games free to all to see, with no Prime subscription required.

The internet giant joins the BBC and Sky in offering games for free. Only BT Sport is set to keep its allocation of Premier League matches behind a paywall.

The move was welcomed by Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden who noted the move would ensure a total of 33 forthcoming Premier League matches would be available on a free-to-view basis.

The exact fixtures to be screened by Amazon via its Prime Video service are still to be determined. All four games are in addition to the matches it won the rights to show as part of the current three year deal with the Premier League and is part of an agreement to broadcast all remaining matches this season because they are being held behind closed doors.

The Premier League resumes on 17th June.
