Sky Sports Box Office pops up on BT TV

The addition of Sky's pay-per-view service on BT TV is another sign that full roll-out of Sky Sports is near.

Nearly two years after a deal with Sky was first announced to bring the full set of Sky Sports channels to BT TV, the first extra service from Sky Sports has appeared on the BT channel list.

Viewers have reported the arrival of Sky Sports Box Office HD on BT TV channel 496 following an update to BT TV YouView boxes.

Last week, the full set of Sky Sports channels briefly appeared on the BT YouView version of the Now TV app, before promptly vanishing, indicating testing is in advanced stages ahead of a formal announcement from BT. The Now TV channels are to also appear on regular channel numbers in the BT TV channel list.

The next pay-per-view event on the channel isn't scheduled until 7th December with coverage of the world heavyweight boxing rematch between Ruiz Jr and Anthony  Joshua. Details of how BT TV viewers can watch the newly added service are expected to be confirmed shortly.

Since the last restructure of Sky Sports, BT TV users have only had access to Sky Sports Main Event and special overflow channel Sky Sports Extra.
