Sewing Quarter channel closure confirmed

Shopping channel Sewing Quarter has confirmed it will be closing its TV channel this month, following the decision of its owner, Immediate Media, to withdraw from TV shopping channels.

The publisher of titles including the RadioTimes announced last month it was exiting the TV business, with sister channel Jewellery Maker being sold back to Gemporia, who originally launched the channel.

Sewing Quarter meanwhile has confirmed it will commence a phased closedown, withdrawing this month from TV screens, with customers still able to buy products from the Sewing Quarter website for the time being.

An exact date for the withdrawal from TV hasn't been confirmed, but many TV platform operators are about to enter a lock down period over Christmas where no changes can take place.

Customers with gift cards, vouchers or credit on their account have until 17th January 2020 to use them.

The channel first launched in early 2017 as the UK's first shopping channel dedicated to sewing.
