My5 adds food and crime channels

Online TV service My5 has added two new channels to its service, following a deal with production company EndemolShine.

It's part of a growing number of third-party channels being offered on the ViacomCBS-owned My5, which was originally launched as the online home of Channel 5's programmes.

The Masters of Food and Reel Truth Crime channels will add 60 hours of specialist food and crime content to the platform. Twenty additional hours will be added to each channel on a monthly basis throughout the year.

The Masters of Food channel will feature a selection of food focused series, including Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, which follows the late world-renowned chef on his travels and exploration of cuisines from around the world. Cooking gameshow My Kitchen Rules Australia will also be amongst the first batch of content.

Meanwhile, Reel Truth Crime will house a collection of true crime documentaries including Crime Investigation Australia, which explores some of the country’s most horrific crimes and Death Row Stories, which revisits some of the most compelling capital murder cases in the USA.

Oli Thomas, VP, Digital Lead, Channel 5 said
Third party channels are an important part of the content mix on My5, as they increase the breadth of programming on the platform and provide an additional monetisation window for partners. The Endemol Shine Group channels will add an exciting new dimension to the content on My5.

Kasia Jablonska, Head of Digital Distribution and Monetisation, Endemol Shine Group added
We are very pleased to have My5 as a content partner and deliver their viewers a great selection of Endemol Shine Group’s diverse catalogue. This partnership demonstrates our continued commitment to developing cross-industry partnerships and actively contributing to the digital revolution.

My5 already offers a number of third-party channels on its platform, including Blaze, PBS America , Together TV and six Pluto TV channels.  It will shortly also add programmes from the Smithsonian Channel.
