Virgin Media opens up Kids channels; boosts allowances

Virgin Media announces further steps in which it says it's helping customers through the Coronavirus lockdown.

The cable TV provider officially gave notice of its offer this morning, although details about the move have already been circulating in the public domain.

Until 21st April 2020, all Virgin Media customers on Player, Mixit (with Kids TV pack) and Maxit (without Kids TV pack) bundles will get Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Nick Toons, Nick Jr Too at no extra cost and with no changes to their contract.  The children's channels can be found in the 700s on the channel list. On-demand content from the channels will also be available.

And after an agreement between telecoms operators including Virgin Media and the Government at the weekend, Virgin Media has also given 2.7million of its pay monthly mobile customers an additional 10GB data and unlimited minutes at no extra cost, as well as permanently removing data caps for customers on its legacy broadband to help them stay connected.

Virgin Media has zero-rated www.111.nhs.uk, www.nhs.uk, www.gov.uk meaning these websites will not decrement customer’s allowances.
