Virgin unlocks 18 entertainment channels to basic tier subscribers

Virgin Media is giving free access to 18 extra channels for viewers on its lower subscription tiers.

The offer, which was confirmed today by Virgin Media after the channels were unlocked to viewers over the weekend, runs until 2nd May 2020.

From today, top entertainment channels such as Comedy Central, Discovery, Fox, Gold and MTV will be available to all TV customers.

Across these channels, a range of shows including War of the Worlds and NCIS (Fox), Only Fools & Horses and Gavin & Stacey (Gold) and Gold Rush and Wheeler Dealer (Discovery) will be available to watch.

This follows last week's news confirming the cable company was giving away access to a number of children's channel incliding Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon on subscriptions that don't normally include these channels until 21st April.

Virgin Media says that there’s also a thousand episodes of programmes from the extra channels also available On Demand, so customers can pick and choose their favourite shows. Eligible customers don’t have to do anything and there will be no change to their contract.
