Subscription video-on-demand service BritBox UK is now being made available on BT TV boxes.
BT TV users with one of the following receiver types - BT T2100, T2200 or T4000 - will get a software update that will make BritBox appear in the list of available apps.
YouView, who control the technical platform that BT TV runs on, has advised that the software update is going to be staggered over several days, so some boxes will get the update before others.
Until now, BritBox has only been rolling out on retail YouView boxes, not linked to one of the ISPs that operate TV services on the platform.
BritBox UK is the home of archive drama and factual shows from all of the main UK-wide public service broadcasters. ITV controls the service with a 90% stake, the BBC's commercial arm holds a minority shareholding. BT TV users who want to access BritBox can set up an account at www.britbox.co.uk, where a free trial is available to new customers.
The rollout on BT TV boxes is part of a wider plan to make BritBox available on as many TV devices as possible.
