BBC fills schedules with Wimbledon highlights

The BBC's latest attempt at filling the Covid-19 shaped hole in schedules means archive Wimbledon for a fortnight at the end of June and early July.

As normal, there will be a daily Wimbledon show from 29th June at 20:00 on BBC Two, presented by Sue Barker. But with the virus, rather than rain stopping play, she will be joined by legends of The Championships to look back on some of its highlights. The one hour show will see Tim Henman and Boris Becker join Sue in the studio with John McEnroe and Martina Navratilova adding their thoughts via video link.

Wimbledon Rewind with Clare Balding will go on air at 1:45pm daily on BBC Two, featuring memorable matches from previous decades, including the women's 1969 final between Ann Jones and Billie Jean King, Boris Becker v Kevin Curren in 1985, the men’s final between Goran Ivanisevic and Andre Agassi in 1992 and the women's 2012 final between Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska.

The BBC is already plugging holes in its schedule this month with replays of Euro 2004 and Glastonbury highlights from the 1990s to last year.
