No TV from Now TV: service struggles with Premier League demand

A surge in demand meant customers were struggling to access to Sky Sports via the Sky-owned streaming service.

As some viewers were enjoying the resumption of the Premier League after its enforced three month break, others found themselves locked out.

Now TV has now apologised to all affected users who were trying to pay for the Sky Sports Day, Week or Monthly Pass, as the site struggled to process all requests, with an error message being triggered.

But some viewers who had paid for access reported that they either couldn't watch the live stream at all or encountered buffering, with Downdetector recording a surge of complaints from users across the UK. Now TV says it's working on a fix - which will come too late for many fans.

Now TV has on occasion suffered from high demand in the past, with Game of Thrones blamed for one of the earliest recorded mass outages on the service, with has now been live for nearly eight years.
