Virgin confirms Prime Video UHD Premier League football

irgin Media confirms Amazon's Prime Video Premier League coverage will be available on the cable service next month, including selected games in 4K UHD.

Amazon Prime Video launched on Virgin Media in July, ahead of the arrival of Amazon's exclusive live coverage of a selection of Premier League matches taking place between the 3-5th December and 26-27th December.

This means that Prime Video subscribers can access the live coverage via their Virgin TV receiver, without needing a separate streaming stick.

Virgin's V6 box also supports 4K UHD programming, meaning Virgin Media customers can enjoy any 4K Ultra HD matches in the highest picture quality right from the comfort of their sofa.

All Virgin Media customers with a V6 box can access the Amazon Prime Video app. It can be accessed by visiting Home > Apps& Games > Amazon Prime Video app or Channel 205 and then pushing the red button on the remote.

Not all matches are due to appear in UHD, but among those already confirmed are Burnley v Manchester City on 3rd December, Liverpool v Everton on 4th December and Arsenal v Brightonn on 5th December 2019.

David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said:
We are saving football fans the hassle this Christmas with our winning combination of ultrafast broadband connectivity and powerful 4K V6 box providing the best match-day experience for Amazon’s Prime Video Premier League fixtures. With all of the Premier League matches from Sky, BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video in one place, Virgin Media is top of the league for football on TV this festive season.
